Instant Budget Spreadsheet Updates
A client was a consultant who had to produce updated budgets to the board the next day. The client did not have the time to make the spreadsheet changes, to update the downstream formula dependencies, and to revise the spreadsheet to make it user-friendly for possible additional changes. Within hours, the client received all their changes, had a great presentation to show the board, and had peace of mind.
Expedited Formula & Algorithm Triage
As I write this, last Saturday evening, I received a voicemail from the CFO of a health care company in the southern US. The voicemail transcript indicated that he was having some trouble with an Excel model and would be around all weekend and Monday, if I had a chance to call. It just so happened that I had fairly slow Sunday, so I called him Sunday evening. I told him I could spare an hour, and the emergency rate would include a 50% surcharge, and I would do my best to solve his issues, but could not make any promises that the hour would be fruitful. I most likely would at least be able to point him in the right direction, if I could not solve the problem, I told him.
He thought that was reasonable, but was on his way out to his daughter’s birthday dinner, so he agreed to text me when he got back home, to see if I was still free. He texted, I emailed him a payment link, and he paid for the hour. When I saw the payment come through, I created a video meeting and he joined. For confidentiality reasons, he did not send me the file; instead, we worked together through screen sharing on his three issues. Within 30 minutes of his text to me, we’d solved all three of his issues, and he indicated he’d keep my number handy for future model creation and assistance. If you could use similar assistance, give me a call a 317-969-5740.
